Cabin Time

The boys and I were able to go to the Gorst cabin this weekend with my mom. We headed up thursday night and stayed through saturday morning. I was hoping to stay a little longer on saturday, but we had lots of rain and hail friday night and a storm which knocked the power out. After leaving the Gorst cabin we headed over to the Paris cabin with my Dad and Andrew and Josh. My cousins Tom and Dan and Uncle Charles were putting a new deck on the Paris cabin so all the boys and I headed out to fish with Tom's wife Lori and two boys Riley and Colter. We had a great time but got really wet and then froze! When it started hailing again and Ethan was worn out we headed home.
At the Gorst cabin we enjoyed a lot of wildlife. We had numerous moose come and go all day on friday and even had one come up to the door while we were inside! On saturday morning we saw a few deer. We also had the usual chipmunks, squirrels, camp robbers, and hummingbirds. We also went on a short walk and saw lots of flowers starting to bloom. I love going to the cabin and I hope we can make it back at least once more before the summer is over!

Girls Only!

A couple weeks ago my sisters (minus Jacque) and my Mom had the opportunity to get together again in Red Lodge. We are so thankful to Gretchen and Kyle for sharing their lovely house there! We met in Billings on thursday and shopped for our food and other stuff, we went to dinner at the Mustard Seed and we waited for Jessica's flight and then headed to RL. We didn't get there until about 1 am, we were SO tired! The rest of the weekend we had a great time cooking, eating, shopping, playing the Wii, watching movies, laughing, laughing, and more laughing, and just spending time together. We all headed home on sunday after dropping Ann and Jess at the airport in Billings. When I go home I always wish we could've stayed longer! Here are a few highlights from our trip...

Student of the Week

Caleb was made Student of the Week the last week of school. He came home with this cute bag that held a stuffed frog and a notebook with stories from each of the students. As student of the week he got to write his own story in the notebook that had to do with an adventure or something that he did with "Froggy". He also got to take pictures of himself to school and they were hung on the Student of the Week board. I thought it was really fun and allowed each of the kids to feel special for one week!

The Goat Farm

Caleb has been able to go on a few really fun field trips this school year, one of them was to the goat farm. Because I was done with school and hadn't started work yet, I was able to go with him. It took us about 20-30 minutes to drive out to the goat farm, but once we got there the kids had a great time! The goats were really fun to watch and the kids loved picking up the babies and holding them.

These were the male goats, also called wethers, that were kept separate from the females and babies. There was also a billy goat in the bunch. They were really skiddish!

This goat was trying to eat Caleb's clothes, it was hilarious!

Say Cheese!

I thought it would be fun to get a couple good pictures of the boys together. It's been a while since I've taken any. The boys weren't really cooperating, but I dedided to just take some until we got something good. First Ethan had to throw a fit...

So I took another and Ethan's eyes were closed...

When I suggested taking just one more, Caleb decided he was done...

Oh well, I guess you can't blame them, it's tough sitting still on the couch and smiling while mom shoots the camera over and over!

1st Annual Red Lodge Trip

Last year we went to Red Lodge to stay at Gretchen & Kyle's house for a couple days...girls only! Gretchen was going to celebrate her 40th birthday & we had just celebrated mother's day, so it was the perfect time for a getaway. We had so much fun, we decided to make it an annual trip. Tomorrow we are headed back to RL and this time Jessica gets to come too. We're sorry Jacque can't come this year, but hope she will be able to in the future.
Anyway, we spent the day in Billings before we headed to RL and thought it would be fun to pop into the photo booth in the mall. The photo booth was really, I mean REALLY small so it was interesting! As you can see, we're missing Mom. There was no way we were getting a 5th grown woman in that thing! I can't wait to post our shenanigans from this year.

What's going on

Well, it's been quite awhile since I blogged, I guess I've been busy. Ha! So basically I'm just updating you all a little...
The semester has come to an end for me. I am so happy and relieved! I didn't get another 4.0, but I did pretty darn good AND I'm in the DH program, so no worries! I just got hired on at Walmart for the summer as a part-time cashier. Part-time will allow me to spend some time with my boys and enjoy our summer before I start DH school. I can't wait to start reading for enjoyment again, I have a list waiting!
The boys are good...Caleb is doing so well in school and is ready to move onto 1st grade. Ethan is speaking so much better than nine months ago and we finally have the potty training down! We really have so much to be thankful for!
