The Big Storm

It started snowing yesterday about 2 or 3 pm...a heavy, wet snow...and it snowed and snowed and snowed...and about 10 pm last night they declared a snow day for the schools, including the college (which is a huge deal! only the 3rd or 4th snow day in 30 years for the college!). And when we woke it was still snowing and all the roads were closed surrounding Sheridan and there was no unnecessary travel on all roads in Sheridan county. And about 11 am I finally ventured outside to discover just how much snow we got...then later in the afternoon, we bundled up and enjoyed playing in the snow until we were wet and freezing! However, by later afternoon the roads had cleared and we were able to drive to walmart for some necessities. Our huge storm was short-lived because we are back to school tomorrow. I'm hoping one of these days spring will be here to stay!

Kite Flying

This is one of my favorite pictures! After going home last weekend, I thought of this picture and wanted to share it. I love the contrast between the green grass and beautiful blue sky! I took it in May '07 after buying Caleb his first kite. We had so much fun flying it out on the farm, and have lots of fun memories from living out there.

The Letter

Today I got my letter...the letter I've been waiting for for a couple weeks now...the letter I've been working toward for the last couple years...the letter that says, "We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to the Sheridan College Dental Hygiene Program" (or something like that). So, it's official! I will be starting the dental hygiene program next fall for two years. I am so excited and so glad I have worked so hard for all those A's! It is paying off! I can't wait!!!

Recipes...you don't say!

Some of you have asked me to start a recipe blog and I really want to, I do! BUT, with school, kids, work, church, homework, this blog, and facebook, I barely have time to sleep. SO, I asked my sister Ann if she would want to start a joint recipe blog and both she and I can contribute to it when we have time. I am excited about this, as is she. We both have so many favorite recipes to share with all of you! I love food and I love to cook, as does she! So, stay tuned for more details...

Weekend in Worland

We were able to go to Worland this weekend to visit family; it's been about three months so the boys were really excited! They always have a good time visiting Papa and Grandma and enjoy getting together with Josh and Andrew.
We got to Worland on friday night and just hung out. On saturday we slept in and the boys watched cartoons (which is a special treat at the grandparent's because we don't have cable tv), then they played outside, and ran some errands with grandpa. I got to meet my good friend Sharee for lunch at Habanero and enjoyed visiting with her. After lunch we headed to the farm. We love the farm and miss it dearly! I walked up to the barn and saw Rocky the barn cat, the llamas and horses. The boys enjoyed running around, shooting off fireworks, getting in grandpa's snacks, riding in the back of the truck out to the pond, throwing rocks in the pond, etc. etc. Of course, Caleb would've loved to fish and shoot guns too, but we had to get back to town and eat dinner so we could get ready for Josh and Brooklyn's reception. Josh was a missionary who served in Worland and Brooklyn is my parent's across the street neighbor's daughter of 30+ years, The Doerr's. It was fun to go to the reception and see Brooklyn married! And see a bunch of the missionaries who have served in Worland. That night Kirstie came over and we watched Twilight. We loved every minute of it but felt we didn't get enough of Edward. Lol! Sunday we went to church. It was so nice to see and visit with our friends. We miss them all so much! After church we enjoyed a delicious lunch and some time outside, and I headed back to Sheridan late afternoon. The boys get to stay at Papa and Grandma's through wednesday (well, depending on the weather and if I can travel back to Worland)...I'm sure they will have a great time! And I will miss them!
